Download: SEASONAL FIELDS

After more than one year of the initial announcement I’m proud to finally release the seasonal farm fields.

These are high quality hood objects that come in square form. You can stick as many together as you want to increase your field size. In each season the fields change their appearence. In spring, you can see the earliest stage of a fruit, in summer the plant is full grown and in autumn the field is either at its last stage or already an acre. In winter the acre slowly gets covered by snow.

Included are four common fruits: Wheat, maize, canola and sunflower. They all look every different from each other in their various colors, heights and season states. In addition to the fruits, there’s also a straw field that you can combine with the wheat fields. In seasons other than summer, it changes to a normal wheat field.

All fields come in a size of a 1x1 and 2x2 hood cell.

Winter

All fruits turn into an acre. In the first snow phase, the fields get covered by light snow, in the second snow phase by heavy snow.

Placement

You have to be somewhat accurate when sticking the field squares together because of the different appearances through the seasons. The easiest way to place the fields is in spring or summer since the fruit stands out from the dirt ground. If you move the camera up you can see a texture that fades out at the end. Make sure to place the fields close enough together to hide these fadeouts as you don’t want to see a repeating pattern and gaps in the field.

I hope you enjoy this CC. The fields are not perfect and I’m not sure how they perform on older computers. But let me say I tried to optimize as much as possible and I had to take many aspects in consideration, therefore I had to make compromises here and there.

Fields from other creators

Some simmers were up to the task and created additional fields for you to enjoy. Please check them out and read the instructions on their pages!

Customization

I tried to make it as easy as possible for you to create your own seasonal field by offering templates, tips and Photoshop actions. The fields are actually quite complicated objects but in this package you will find a tutorial on how to correctly clone template packages with an detailed overview of all season states.

You are free to publish your own versions of my seasonal fields, but please state me as original creator.
